Biography

Esther Keller received her undergraduate degree in Choral Music Education from Brigham Young University in 2021, where she studied under Dr. Diane Reich and sang with the renowned BYU Singers under the direction of Dr. Andrew Crane. After teaching private voice for several years, she received a Master’s degree in Vocal Pedagogy and Performance from East Carolina University in 2025, studying under Dr. Jami Rhodes.

Esther sings regularly with the North Carolina Choral Artists, and Wilmington Voices, where she is often featured as a soloist. She will make her Opera Wilmington debut this summer as Suor Genovieffa in Puccini’s Suor Angelica. Some of her other operatic roles include Fiordiligi in the ECU Opera Scenes program, and Mrs. Odum in the world premiere of Gal Young ‘Un. Along with singing contractually throughout North Carolina, Esther also retains a position as a choral scholar at Lakeside Church in Rocky Mount.

Esther has been teaching voice students for almost ten years. Her teaching is scientifically sound and well-adapted to each students’ needs. Besides teaching privately, Esther has taught and conducted several choral programs during her time as a student. She was notably the director of a Scandinavian choir of undergraduate students while studying in Utah.

During her time as a Master’s student, she constructed curriculum and taught undergraduate voice lessons and voice classes through a graduate assistantship. She has helped countless students prepare for auditions, musical roles, choir solos, a capella festivals, opera roles, etc. Her students describe her as “caring”, “energetic”, “approachable”, and “knowledgeable”.

When Esther is not teaching or singing, she loves to spend time with her husband, Austin, and son, Solly (6) at their home in Knightdale, NC.
